GUADELOUPE ISLAND

Guadeloupe Island or Isla Guadeloupe is a volcanic island located 241 kilometers (150 mi) off the west coast of Mexico’s Baja California Peninsula and some 400 kilometers (250 mi) southwest of the city of Ensenada in the state of Baja California, in the Pacific Ocean. The two other Mexican island groups in the Pacific Ocean that are not on the continental shelf are Revillagigedo Islands and Rocas Alijos.

Guadeloupe, a French overseas region, is an island group in the southern Caribbean Sea. We visited Guadeloupe in December 2015 and stayed at the La Créole Beach Resort & Spa. We explored the island, while hiking through the rain-forest to waterfalls, relaxing in outdoor pools and jet skiing to a private island to relax on a white sand beach.
