The Maldives is a tropical nation in the Indian Ocean composed of 26 ring-shaped atolls, which are made up of more than 1,000 coral islands. It’s known for its beaches, blue lagoons and extensive reefs.
We visited the Maldives in April 2016 to celebrate Sheba’s birthday and our 2nd wedding anniversary. We stayed at the Conrad Maldives and took a seaplane to the private island where the Conrad was located. We enjoyed relaxing on the white sand beach with and crystal-clear ocean water, snorkeling, and other water sports, cruising on a yacht, the over water spa and dining in the famed undersea restaurant Ithaa. We also sailed to Dhangethi to explore the neighboring island.
Maldives 2021- We had an absolute blast in Maldives, this was our second time visiting and it did not disappoint. We flew in the First Class suites on Emirates Airlines using our miles (saving us almost $20k each). The food on the plane was absolutely superb, with butler service upon arrival. Then we stayed at the 5 Star resort St. Regis Maldives Vommuli Resort in an overwater St. Regis 1 Bedroom suite bungalow (saving $20k using our Marriott points). The resort came with personal butler (Katie) she was the best and Nubia had an absolute blast! This was such a relaxing trip, so much that we’re going back in October 2021 using points and miles again but this time we’re flying first class on Qatar Airways in their Q-Suites. We have both the W and new Ritz Carlton Maldives booked with our points, but we’re going to check out which will be better for our daughter Nubia. Either, way we’re definitely going back this year for a second time, it’s just a matter of which hotel we will be staying at using our #TrickstoTravelSystem.
