Mauritius, is an Indian Ocean island nation, is known for its beaches, lagoons and reefs. The mountainous interior includes Black River Gorges National Park, with rain-forests, waterfalls, hiking trails and has various historical sites and temples. We visited Mauritius in September 2018 and stayed at the Hilton Mauritius Resort & Spa.
We celebrated Ronnie’s 40th birthday and our 100th country visited together! One of the religious sites we visited was the the Maheswarnath Shiv Mandir Temple, the largest Hindu temple in Mauritius Located in Pamplemousses at the northern end of the village of Triolet. We also visited the Charmel waterfall and Seven Colored Earth, the Black River Gorges National Park and waterfall, hung out with some lions and cheetahs in Casela Wildlife Park, and enjoyed the beautiful beach, snorkeling, sailing and other water sports.
