Samoa is a country comprising the westernmost group of the Samoan Islands, in Polynesia. Many of its islands have reef-bordered beaches and rugged, rain forested interiors with gorges and waterfalls. The islands include Upolu, home to most of Samoa’s population, and Savai’i, one of the largest islands in the South Pacific.
We visited Samoa in April 2018 to celebrate Sheba’s 35th birthday and our 4th wedding anniversary. We stayed at the Sheraton Samoa Beach Resort and visited Apia Harbour, To Sua Giant Swimming Hole and the Piula Cave Pool. At the Samoa Cultural Village, we enjoyed a tour and cultural show, as well as watched someone get a traditional tattoo, experienced traditional cooking in an earth oven and learned about Samoan culture and history.
