SEYCHELLES

Seychelles is an archipelago of 115 islands in the Indian Ocean, off East Africa. It’s home to numerous beaches, coral reefs and nature reserves, as well as rare animals such as giant Aldabra tortoises. Mahé, a hub for visiting the other islands, is home to capital Victoria. It also has the mountain rainforests of Morne Seychellois National Park and beaches, including Beau Vallon and Anse Takamaka.

Victoria, on Mahé Island, is the capital city of the Seychelles archipelago in the Indian Ocean. Seychelles National Botanical Gardens showcases endemic palms and orchids, as well as giant tortoises and fruit bats. The colorful Sir Selwyn Clarke Market sells spices, fruit, art and souvenirs. Near the Cathedral of Our Lady of Immaculate Conception is the imposing La Domus, built in 1934 to house Catholic missionaries.

We visited Seychelles in April 2017 to celebrate Sheba’s birthday and our 3rd wedding anniversary. We stayed at the Hilton Seychelles Northolme Resort & Spa. We explored Mahe Island, and the capital Victoria, including Seychelles National Botanical Gardens where we interacted with giant tortoises, Arul Mihu Navasakthi Vinayagar Hindu Temple, Sir Selwyn Clarke Market and relaxed on the beautiful beach.
