Vanuatu is a South Pacific Ocean nation made up of roughly 80 islands that stretch 1,300 kilometers. The islands offer scuba diving at coral reefs, underwater caverns and wrecks such as the WWII-era troopship SS President Coolidge. Harborside Port Vila, the nation’s capital and economic center, is on the island of Efate.
In April 2018, we visited Vanuatu to celebrate our 4th wedding anniversary and Sheba’s 35th birthday. We stayed at the Holiday Inn Resort Vanuatu in an over-water bungalow. We enjoyed touring this beautiful tropical island, hiking to waterfalls, swimming in the Blue Lagoon, playing with sea turtles, witnessing an amazing fire show, and a cultural tour to a local village.
